Yesterday, I attended “Redskin, Tanned Hide,” a public conference and conversation at Iliff Seminary in Denver. The panelist-led conference considered the grotesque presence at Iliff for many years of a

About Me

Welcome! My name is Marrton Dormish. (If you're curious about the spelling of my given name, click here.) I'm a fourth-generation Coloradan. Although I was born and raised in Denver, I've lived in Missouri, New Mexico and Spain. In 2004, my family and I moved to Broomfield, Colo., which occupies the treaty-recognized homelands of the Hinono'eiteen (Arapaho), the Tsitsistas (Cheyenne) and the Nuu-ci (Ute) nations.

I have served as a minister of presence, justice and memory in Broomfield and the North Denver Metro area for more than a decade. Among other things, I companion people in need, help catalyze local housing stability efforts, and facilitate “pilgrimages from below” to nearby sites of historical and cultural significance.

Three of my four kids and I live in a bi-level not far from some beautiful, city-designated open space. Sometimes, we hear coyotes howling in the night.
