The Refuge and Anchored Life faith communities will co-host a screening of The Line documentary at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Crescent Grange in Broomfield, Colo. The Line is a 30-minute film that chronicles the struggles of four people in America who live at or below the federal “poverty line.” A discussion of the film and its themes will follow the screening.
The film itself is written and directed by Emmy award-winning producer Linda Midgett, and sponsored by Sojourners, in partnership with World Vision, Oxfam America, Bread for the World and the Christian Community Development Association. A recent blog headline by Jim Wallis, the CEO of Sojourners, calls The Line, “the most important film you’ll see this year.”
The Line premieres nationwide on Oct. 2. Visit The Line‘s website to find a nearby public screening or to host a private or public screening of your own. Sojourners will send a free DVD to screeners who invite at least five others to watch the film.
