I recently received a link to the webinar below along with a note from my spiritual director and dear friend Phyllis:
“If you want a quiet interlude in these busy days, I’d recommend spending time with any or all of these Advent saints.”
The webinar she referenced was produced by Give Us This Day and features author and publisher Robert Ellsberg speaking on the lives of exemplary Catholic saints and lesser-known people “who show us something of the way of Jesus,” in Phyllis’s words. Common themes from their stories are “the preferential option for the poor” and “solidarity with the poor.” Among those highlighted are Charles de Foucauld, Ita Ford, Maura Clarke, Jean Donovan, Oscar Romero, Nicholas, Juan Diego, Our Lady of Guadalupe and Thomas Merton.
