I turned 49 last month. Maegan went on a mission trip to Uganda and then moved two states over for her fall semester in Springfield, Mo. Ryan and Addie also started their college careers. Tony started work on GED prep to finish his high school career. And last Friday, my mom, Shirley Ann Dormish, passed away from complications due to Lewy body dementia. She was 87. I got to write her obituary in case you’d like to read it. My siblings and I are glad she’s not suffering anymore and that she’s free from the memory care facility where she lived. Although she was a favorite of the caregiving staff, she didn’t like living there. Mostly, we’re all really sad that she’s gone. Grief is like that. It’s hard to know how to feel sometimes. Mom, may you rest in peace in the arms of your Creator! |
