Earlier this week, two friends and I drove to a Dependable Cleaners warehouse on South Broadway in Denver, where massive piles of coats awaited sorting and selection by volunteers. Since we had made an “appointment” at the warehouse as representatives of a recognized non-profit, we were given one hour to collect as many coats as we could. We came away with 18 large trash bags full of children’s, women’s and men’s coats for direct service agencies and churches that serve people in need in Broomfield and nearby counties.
This generous coat donation program is made possible through a partnership between Dependable Cleaners and Coats For Colorado, a non-profit initiative that has been distributing new and gently used coats to needy local residents since 1982.
