Local non-profits receive surplus funds

Thank you, Broomfield City Council! I’m so grateful for last night’s city council vote to redirect $483,870 in surplus property tax funds to local non-profits agencies, including several working diligently on-the-ground in the areas of housing and basic needs support:

  1. Almost Home — additional $64,016
  2. Broomfield Community Foundation — additional $8,750
  3. Broomfield FISH — additional $100,000
  4. Mental Health Partners (MHP) — additional $125,000
  5. The Refuge — additional $16,500

Each of these grantees had previously applied for and received some funds from the Department of Human Services annual grant program, so these funds supplement those already requested and distributed to these agencies.

In short, this is a big win for our local social safety net and for Broomfield as a whole!
