Powers: The Serial

In January 2011, I published the first episode of what became a 9-month series that followed the lives of a diverse cast of true-to-life characters. While Powers: The Serial touches on true stories of need in our world today, it is a fictional series with fictional characters.

The “serial” is a venerable medium for telling stories in which segments of an overall work are published one chapter or one episode at a time. Many of the novels of Charles Dickens, for example, were published in serial form. More importantly for the purposes of this site, serials are making a popular comeback, and I hoped Powers: The Serial would help me tell aspects of certain stories that I otherwise couldn’t due to security concerns or the need for confidentiality.
